Essai d’un mélange de trois huiles essentielles dans le traitement des nausées et vomissements postopératoires
Trial of a mixture of three essential oils in the treatment of postoperative nausea and vomiting
The treatment of postoperative nausea and vomiting, which appear in 30% of cases, is crucial in facilitating a patient’s recovery, comfort and image of the anaesthesiology specialist. Currently, there are a number of aggressive allopathic treatments available:
The following mixture was used: Zingiber off., Elletaria cardamomum and Artemisia dracunculus in equal parts. The mixture was applied in the recovery room as soon as symptoms appeared, and the results were recorded about 30 minutes later.
In 75% of the cases, the results were positive. Patients who received a single analgesic drug capable of causing nausea or vomiting benefited the most from the treatment. In the other cases, the results were positive 50% of the time.
